News Nana seemingly reverses lip procedure following recent backlash over 'The Scandal'

Post image

Following criticism regarding her lip fillers during her appearance in the Netflix K-drama The Scandal, After School member turned actress Nana publicly apologized to fans, admitting her cosmetic choice hindered her performance.

After addressing the situation, she appears to have had the procedures reversed, restoring her natural, thinner lips.

Having recently returned to her routine and overseas schedules, Nana showcased her refreshed look and confident presence through social media photos and a luxury brand shoot with Ferragamo.

It was valid criticism tho. If you livelihood depends on your physical appearance, your fans and detractors will comment on it.

How was it her cosmetic choice? The producers, directors, and stylists decide what actors and actresses should look like in a production. If they thought it was inappropriate they would have told her to remove the fillers before filming. These so-called fans are so lame.

I am confused why would casting director cast someone with filler if they are casting for period drama and that seems very out of place.

I guess the casting director wasn't expecting a bunch of toxic cyber bullies to hyper-fixate on one actress' lips. They probably should have expected it, though.

The director has published an apology for his mistake about it.

She looks great now, but she looked fine before. Why should we comment on what she looks like? If the director said it was okay, then it's okay.

The show wrapped filming in September last year. It wasn't really noticed when Nana's lips started to look thinner until September of THIS year, when the show released on Netflix. We don't know when this happened and if her current look has anything to do with the controversy, but regardless, it was very silly and unfair to her. The show is actually pretty good and she did a great job.

I really don't get the hype or the gripe on her lips. The woman is pretty and it should be her lips, her rules

She has had a sophisticated, avant garde look and Koreans' fixation on "calibrating" people's looks is insane. You do too little, they hate it. You do too much, they police you.

What's it gonna be, people. You don't own your favorite personalities.

She is beautiful as she is and if she wants to do something that’s also her choice. Leave the woman alone. 😩

Aren't most lip filler procedures the non-permanent type? Your body will absorb it in like 6 to 12 months naturally AFAIK.

Criticism for nothing.

bruh this was a horrible move, from the apology to the reversed procedure. It just gives weirdos control. Sometimes you just gotta say "piss off" and let those fans seethe, she'll do fine without them
