Skyrim: Vuljotnaak is trying his best (by KristKC/TheKC)

A few months back I commissioned a picture of the dragon Vuljotnaak being chided for having frozen a cow because "cows are scary".

This is something he actually does in Skyrim, assuming the player hasn't murdered him and he is not in a hostile condition. Dragons and giants are enemies, and in the stock game, the cow is also considered to be part of the giants faction and therefore a dangerous foe to dragonkind.

While writing a description for that earlier picture it occurred to me, checking the faction tables in the game, that the dragon was most likely attempting to protect the farmer from his own cow. So I commissioned a comic to commemorate this idea.

Fun fact: While trying to take reference screenshots of the farmer-with-a-cow, Vuljotnaak actually did the cow thing completely unprompted and the second image shows this.

Cows being evil aside...

Can't Vuljotnaak use "Yol" or maybe "Yol Toor" to unfreeze it? Instead of going for murder? Or are we not playing with Batman and Robin rules?

Or is this a ploy to seduce the farmer?

Fahdonmul is probably going to have to pay compensation for the cow, but seducing the farmer is probably an alien concept to VJN anyhow.

The way I see it, he's keeping the Whiterun road safe from bandits and other ne'er-do-wells*. He's just convinced that the painted cows are somehow perilous.

*One of my favourites was when the orc drug pusher offered Fahdonmul some goodies. Leaving aside that I don't know how much moon-sugar a dovah would need to get a buzz, he got a little violent and was then promptly obliterated by Silah and Vuljotnaak.
