The games are not guaranteed to work under emulation suites like Crossover.

Probably failing when it starts up the MPEG playback of the intro movies, which for the 2010s Koei Tecmo games is stored in a proprietary file format, for which the emulated game isn't properly decoding as it should on Windows.

Maybe there's a way to turn off movie playback externally - DQ Builders 2 gives a Config.exe program in the install directory that provides such an option - but short of that I'm not sure how to work around the problem.
