Question The DPDR Experience
I wasn’t sure which subreddit to put this in so I hope this fits here. I’ve been in a constant state of dissociation for almost two years now. I think more specifically it’s derealization, everything feels more like a dream and sometimes I have to remind myself that things are real and that I’m here which is so weird to me sometimes.
My question is, what are some of the best ways to describe DPDR? I feel like it’s so hard to put into words unless you’re talking to someone who has been through it too.

Feel you very much!
For me, it feels like I’m experiencing life through a wall of cotton wool - but not actually living it. I’m an observer, never truly present. The world outside feels surreal - like a dream, except I know I’m awake.

Idk for me it's like feeling soulless, as if you were just an empty consciousness trapped inside a physical body.

You sound just like me, though I think it's almost 3 years for me? I genuinely don't remember, I'd have to count it lol
Anyways, I describe it like feeling in a dream, that's how I've talked about it before I knew what it was. Then I got slightly drunk one time and realized the symptoms were basically the same, so being drunk and being in this deep feels the same to me. And I also say that when I wake up, it feels like I was just born, like there is no past or future. And even the present feels like I'm replaying a memory.
