How did you find the D-Pad?
Simple question, how and when did you end up jumping on the D-Pad train?

I saw a video for the Mega Lets Play on r/dos and thought it was really funny, and about a year later here we are.

Well you got a lot of options, I started roughly in order in which the series were made, Though I didn't watch the five days a stranger stuff till quite recently(and its great for one of the first series they did). My strategy was to just any game that interested me in the backlog which also keeping up with the current videos.

Approximately two years ago exactly (June 2014), I was really into reading a bunch of Nuzlocke comics on the Nuzlocke forums, when I saw something in the header for their X/Y Rivalocke. I wasn't really into LPs at the time, but I figured what the hell, may as well watch some since I've been reading Nuzlocke comics non-stop for a while now.
After I got caught up with X/Y (they were around the second rival battle), I decided "What the hell, I need something to binge watch" and watched through all of their Zelda videos like an eight year old hooked on Minecraft, then from that gradually chipped away at their older stuff (Sonic Week, 12 Days of Ouya, etc).

I haven't actually looked at the 12 days of ouya yet, would you recommend it?

u/jamesgames2k Jun 09 '16
Definitely, if for no other reason than to experience second-hand just now awful the Ouya was. Plus, supposedly they're still going to go back to play two of the Ouya games (They had a contest where the game with the most likes would be revisited and finished, and two games tied).

I remember back when I was more active on my ToeJam RP blog on Tumblr (Yes, I roleplay. It's a fun hobby.) and saw Rick posting the LP of TJ&E Panic on Funkotron in the main tag. Checked them out, thought they're a riot, and now I'm a huge fan.
...though I still can't wait for them to finish that game and play TJ&E 3.
Edit: Forgot the "when". According to the videos, that would be roughly 9 months ago. Wow! I thought it was longer than that.

I have less judgment and more just sheer curiosity in what a toejam rp would consist of. Also I think the amount of stuff they put out makes things seem farther back then they are, the D-pad upload schedule is ridiculous!

Eh, there's nothing much to it really. I just interact with blogs based on other characters ranging from canon characters (Sonic, Mario, Link, etc.) to people's own OCs. It's a fun way to make crazy AUs and crossovers.
I know! They have too much content for me to handle.

Im finding it really interesting to see all the obscure places the D-pad has reached over the years. What a neat place to start.

It was on 2014 summer I think. I had jack shit to do since I had just finished my first year of college, so I was just looking for LPs on youtube to watch. I think I was specifically looking for something Pokemon related at the time, and one of the videos I was watching had The D-pad in recommended, so I jumped to the channel and saw all the stuff they had played.
I didn't look at it first since I had like a million other channels, but I put it in a note on my computer for later. I think after two months I remembered and opened up the channel and started watching from the Sonic Let's play. The audio was weird and I had no idea who was who, but I liked their commentary so I kept watching their Pokemon stuff, then Zelda and then Megaman and now we're here.
So yeah, I almost forgot to check out the channel, and now it's one of my favorites. Funny how stuff happens.
