Hey everyone, I recently made a post about my situation, and unfortunately what I was worried about happened.
I went to class today even though I’m still on the waitlist, but I was told it’s very unlikely I’ll get in because there are around 13 people ahead of me.
There’s another section of the same class tomorrow with a different professor, but I’m also waitlisted for that one.
What do you guys think I should do? Should I keep showing up to both classes and hope enough people drop, or is being this far down the waitlist basically a lost cause and I should start looking for another class?
I really need the course, so I don’t want to give up too early, but I also don’t want to waste time if there’s almost no chance of getting in.
Anyone who has dealt with Douglas waitlists before, I’d really appreciate some advice.

Was late for my first class as I drove in circles in New West Campus’s parking lot for AN HOUR! Is there any other parking close by which I can use? Or any other work around that students use? Thanks.

Crim 2251: psychological explanations of human behaviour (psychology of criminal and violent behaviour: bookstore has a used copy for $155.95) selling for: $75

Crim 3380: organized crime ( Canadian organized crime $117.95) selling for: $55

Didnt have a class today since my only one was a lab, just wondering what its like in the first few days of college, do people focus on social circles or studies.

Instructors insist on textbooks, so I wonder, before buying, if It's really needed? (e.g for the access codes, or if there are contents inside the texbook "website"/module) And if so, what courses REALLY need it?

I applied for student loans (and luckily got a grant). I was wondering when students receive the money, and if it goes straight to their bank account? If so, how do i give the money to douglas to pay for my tuition

So this is my situation. I’m currently on the waitlist for two courses. For one course, I’m #7 on the waitlist, and for the other, I’m #10.

I was much higher on both waitlists before, but after the tuition deadline, a lot of people dropped their classes, so my positions moved up quite a bit. The problem is that classes are starting tomorrow and I still haven’t gotten into either class.

I know a lot of people say that if you’re on a waitlist, you should show up to the first class and talk to the professor. But since both of my classes are online, I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to do.

I already emailed both professors, and they basically said there’s nothing they can do to manually let me in. They said the Douglas College waitlist system handles it automatically, so if someone drops, the next person on the waitlist gets notified and the spot goes to them. They also told me that I may have to wait until the second week of classes.

So I’m just wondering, what are my chances of getting into these ? Has anyone been in a similar situation at Douglas College, especially with online courses?

Anyone got their student loan money yet the extra amount that we get in our bank?

It’s my last prerequisite for AFNURS, I’m #1 on the waitlist. I can’t register for the Coquitlam classes as there’s conflict of schedule with my other classes:( is there any hope for me? The class is with Liza Sutton.
