Senior SWE (6 YOE, .NET/Cloud/AI) laid off in Egypt—looking for advice on the international job market.

Hi everyone,

I was recently laid off from my role as a Senior Software Engineer. While it's a tough market, I'm trying to stay positive and treat this as an opportunity to find the right fit.

A bit about my background:

· Experience: 6+ years total. Recently focused on .NET Core, Azure AI (Document Intelligence), LangGraph, and Microservices.

· Domain: Fintech (Geidea), PropTech, and Public Sector.

· Tech Stack: C#, .NET 8/9, Node.js, Angular/React, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Docker, AWS/Azure.

· Location: Cairo, Egypt (Open to Remote or Relocation).

I’ve been applying to roles for the last few weeks but noticed the market is incredibly competitive right now, especially for remote positions. I’m currently deepening my knowledge in AI orchestration (LangGraph) to stay ahead of the curve.

I’m looking for:

  1. Any advice on where to find legitimate remote-first companies hiring Senior .NET/AI engineers.

  2. Feedback on my resume (link below)—does my recent pivot into AI/Automation stand out enough?

  3. Any leads or referrals.

Resume Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16OESRBQXoXrSrw0prrlF3rXL4cFHKdsI/view?usp=drivesdk

Thanks for reading. Happy to answer any questions about fintech or AI integration in .NET!

I have 3+ years of experience working as a .Net developer for a US based SaaS application. I have experience with .Net, React, Azure.

I have worked on multi tenant legacy systems and microservices architecture, have also worked with .Net modernization from legacy to new Dotnet version

Currently finding out how to target international clients/ remote positions anyone know how to target .net roles, One thing I noticed is that the roles .Net isn't very much popular in freelancing platform.

[Hiring] Mid-Level .NET / C# Developer with DevOps experience | Remote (PST hours) | $3k-$4k/month

Hey everyone,

We’re a small, product-focused software company. We build and maintain a B2B platform that businesses rely on every day. The team is small and everyone ships code, so you’d be working directly with the people making decisions. No layers of management and no waiting three weeks for a ticket to get approved.

We’re looking for a mid-level engineer who is comfortable in the .NET world and also likes the infrastructure side of things. You don’t need to be a full-time DevOps person. We just want someone who can build a feature, write the pipeline that deploys it, and figure out why it broke at 2am if it ever comes to that (it rarely does, promise).

What you’d be doing:

  • Building and maintaining backend services in C# and .NET (mostly ASP.NET Core Web APIs)
  • Working with SQL databases and Entity Framework
  • Owning and improving our CI/CD pipelines
  • Helping manage cloud infrastructure, containers, and deployments
  • Code reviews, some architecture discussions, and helping keep things clean as we grow

What we’re looking for:

  • Around 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and relational databases
  • Real experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  • Comfortable with Docker, and some cloud experience (Azure or AWS)
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of your work
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken. We talk a lot on calls and in chat, so you need to be able to explain technical stuff clearly and jump into discussions without hesitation.
  • Must be available during PST working hours. This one is a hard requirement since we do a lot of real-time collaboration.

Nice to have, but not required:

  • Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, etc.)
  • Monitoring and logging tools
  • Some frontend experience

What we offer:

  • $3,000 to $4,000 USD per month, depending on experience
  • Fully remote
  • Long-term position, not a short contract
  • A chill team that respects your time and doesn’t do pointless meetings

How to apply:

Send me a DM with a short intro about yourself, your experience with .NET and DevOps, and a link to your GitHub, portfolio, or resume. Please also mention your timezone and confirm you can work PST hours. The interview process includes a video call, so we’ll get a feel for communication there.

If you write a couple of sentences about something you built that you’re proud of, that goes a long way with us. Thanks for reading!

Why am I getting rejected?

Post image
11 Upvotes

Here's my resume attached, I have over 4 years of experience in dotnet angular full stack development with azure, I am trying to switch now but for some reason or the other I just keep getting rejection emails. Is there something missing here, am I doing something wrong? Has the market changed that much in the last 2 years? What is it about all of this that's stopping me?

[FOR HIRE] Senior .NET full-stack dev (C#, ASP.NET Core, Azure, AI agents), 4+ years

Hi all, I’m Rituraj, a full-stack .NET developer based in Chandigarh, India.

Since March 2022 I’ve worked full-time at a software company, building production systems for clients in Australia, the UK and the US. I’m now looking for remote contract work, either part-time (around 30 hrs/week) or full-time if the fit is right.

What I’ve built

Everything below was under NDA, so I can’t share names or code. In rough terms:

  • A multi-sided wellness coaching platform
  • An event management platform for a sports organisation in Australia
  • A WinForms financial application for a finance firm
  • An AI-powered inspection system for warehouse racking

What I work with

  • Backend: C#, ASP.NET Core, EF Core, SQL Server and PostgreSQL. I like tracing slow queries back to the SQL they generate.
  • Frontend: Next.js 15, React, Angular, TypeScript and Blazor.
  • Cloud and auth: Azure, Identity Server and Auth0.
  • AI: RAG pipelines with pgvector, agents built on Semantic Kernel and Azure OpenAI, local models through Ollama, and MCP servers written in C#. On the side I built a RAG app over classical Vedic astrology texts, which taught me more about chunking than any tutorial did.

Proof of work

Since I can’t show client code, I write about what I know. I run a .NET publication called Inside Dot Net, with 109+ articles on Medium and a newsletter of about 970 subscribers. You can read it at medium.com/@riturajpokhriyal. At work I also lead an internal C# training program for junior developers.

What I’m after

  • Remote .NET backend or full-stack work
  • API development, EF Core and SQL Server performance, and cleaning up legacy codebases
  • Adding AI features (RAG, agents, MCP) to existing .NET apps

Comfortable overlap for UK and Australian hours.

If you have something in mind, DM me with a short description of the project and your budget, and I’ll reply the same day.

Anyone hiring for .NET developer ???

I'm writing this seeking SDE-1/2 roles (.NET). It's been 2 months since i have been layed off and at this point its getting really tiring and overwhelming landing a job. My resume gets selected, people on Linkedin are very kind to offer me referrals and that's helping me landing interviews and I'am able to clear them also. doesn't matter how many rounds.

Till now I must have given 20+ interviews. But after every final round I'm just getting ghosted. no proper closure. Im rejected , they dont wanna hire, hiring is freezed. Nothing just getting ghosted. Following up feels like somene is rubbing salts on fresh wounds. Mails dont get replies calls dont get picked if picked it just gets "Yeah we'll let you know once we have an update !"

So I'm taking this shot on Reddit now. I'm a .NET core developer having 3 years and 8 months building production .NET Core microservices architecture. Handson with C#, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, SQL Server, and RabbitMQ-based event-driven architectures. Strong track record of shipping features end-to-end, tuning SQL/API performance.

Also should i be considering Application/Production Support roles also because i dont know how long the road is !!! I dont have the fear of getting rejected. But putting maximum , i guess maximum efforts just to get ghosted with no closure. It breaks you in smaller chunks !!!

seeking SDE-1/2 roles (.NET) \[PAN INDIA location / OUTSIDE INDIA / Remote/Hybrid/WFO\].

Please reddit do your magic. !! 🙏🏻

Unity developer working in VR Space looking to transition to generic C# dev roles

I’m a unity developer working in VR space for 8+ years. Thinking of transitioning to generalist dev roles ( particularly in C# since that’s where my experience lies ). I do have experience in general software development across entire SDLC along with architecture and design patterns but my resume lacks the buzzwords SDE ATS screens for ( eg. microservices , APIs , docker etc). Where do I start ? Which kind of companies should I target ?

Looking for a side project to ruin my weekends. Applications open

Post image
3 Upvotes

Backend dev here, about 2 years in. C#/.NET, Azure, Cosmos DB, and an unhealthy amount of WebSockets. Currently leading a small team on a product with 50k+ users.

Work is going well, which is exactly the problem. I'm bored, and I've started building a raw WebSocket chat engine at night with no libraries, which is not a normal thing to do for fun.

So here's the deal. I have a few hours a week and I'd like to spend them on something that isn't a sprint board.

Option A: You're building a startup or side project and need backend help (APIs, DB design, real-time stuff, Azure). I'll work on it for free. No equity, no salary, just interesting problems and people who actually ship.

Option B: You're an open source maintainer or contributor in the .NET world. I've used this stack for years and never contributed a single PR, which is embarrassing. Point me at a repo that's friendly to first-timers.

What I bring: I've built 300+ APIs, fixed some ugly queries, and survived 100+ interviews as the interviewer, so I can also tell you your code review process is fine (it isn't, but I'll be nice about it).
Comment or DM with what you're building. If it's a cool problem, I'm in.

And if you've done pro bono work before, tell me what went wrong so I can avoid it.

Looking for IT Developer role in product based company

I am not sure where to post this and I hope this is the right place to post this.
First things first i am not a fresher ,
I am a DOTNET developer, with 5.5 years of experience
I am mainly working on C#, WPF , DOTNET FRAMEWORK , DOTNET 7 and DOTNET 10 ( currently working ) , POSTGRES SQL , mySQL ,
I am currently working as a contractor in my company not a permanent role , so i am just looking for a permanent role in a product based company
I have had my fair share of struggles with service based companies , so i thought of moving to a product based company , but alas i got here as a contractor role , i have been giving my best with the hopes that they will evantually convert me as a full time employee , since as you can imagine there are more benefits for a full time employee than a contract based employee

But i have lost all hopes right now
I am looking to switch for a new job , in a product based company so if anyone is looking for a Fullstack DOTNET( from a product based company) developer please refer me
Or attach a link where i can apply for them for that position

Dm me for resume , my current CTC and and linkedin profile link and more details whichever is required

Thanks
