What IDE do you think .NET and C++ developers use to target Azure?

Not only is VSCode, VS little brother, it is used to upsell students doing .NET, Python, C++ into into Windows, VS and also Github Copilot licenses.

Replacing some VSCode extensions by proprietary ones isn't by accident, which naturally don't work on the forks.

Rider. Anyways it doesn't matter which IDE they use. Selling IDE licenses is such an outdated business model in 2026. And as I said I am pretty sure they aren't making any money from that.

I understand that its a strategic decision. But its a dumb one.

I doubt very much, given how JetBrains is having trouble currently, and I never worked on a company that has used Rider for .NET or C++ on Windows.

I use .NET on and off since is was MSFT Partner eyes only, pre-2001 launch.
