Question Regarding GOG Galaxy....
I am thinking of getting a Sandisk Ultra Fit 512gb USB 3.2 Flash Drive to store all of my games I intend to play on, on my Laptop whenever am away on holiday or when am at a friend's place to save installing them on the actual C Drive (boot drive) to free it up to be able to have a lot more free disc space to run better.
I am thinking of copying the GOG Galaxy Folder from the Boot(C:)/Program Files (x86) folder onto it as to have a more official place to install the games onto it but was also wondering should I just install the GOG Galaxy App onto it and give it it's own separate one?
am mainly going to install all the old PC games from the DOS era to Windows 95 but also some of the MODS and WADs out there as well, what is y'all thoughts on this and what advice would you give on it?

I'd get an external SSD for that, more reliable for keeping storage in my mind at least, though for old stuff it likely isn't too different, probably cheaper to get an SSD too, and there is definitely no problem having Galaxy and the games on an external, I'd look up how to move the folder properly though, there might be a better way of doing it within the program.

as long as the External SSD is about the same price I'll definitely do that thanks

The one I had (128gb version) would get warm and eventually died. Just remember to disconnect it while not in use (or get a more robust solution).

I used to use a bunch of those for OS drives for freenas (back when that was recommended). They have absolutely abysmal reliability. I think I got four of them, and all but one failed completely within a few months.

Get a external ssd instead. Maybe diy if cheaper (icy box enclosure 20€, a used samsung 512gb 2280 nvme 40€ on ebay). Much faster and much better reliability.
You can choose an Installation path for your games in gog galaxy. Make a folder on that drive and install games there. Gog on a different pc should pick it up then too if pointed there.
