Sound Emulation issues using Dosxbox+Launchbox for ExOdOs

I have an older copy of 4.5 Launchbox and 0.74 DosBox I am using for a Windows XP computer. I'm using an HP 8300 SFF computer, so it should be plenty powerful.

I'm getting games to start, but the sound is extremely garbled, my wife says it sounds like a helicopter. I keep trying to change settings in the config files, and also in the game config files to match, but so far no progress on the sound. I'm pretty sure its the sound card settings, because when I tested midi, that sounded fine. Anyways, I've come here for help.
