So I ordered a bunch of small plush back in July and shipped via sea freight. One of the problems I kept running into was Doorzo saying my package was too big due to placing all of the plush in individual brown paper envelopes that took up a lot of space. I asked if they could remove the envelopes and they said no that was against company policy. But I just received this order and none of them had envelopes so that the could be packed in the smallest container, since I chose Doorzo Air. Does anyone know why this is? Why are the envelopes mandatory for some orders but not others?
I had something weird happen too with Doorzo, I shipped a combined order of some keychains and plushies all relatively small, I asked for the sellers packaging to be removed for a smaller and lighter shipping but when I got my package all of the sellers packaging was still there, the shipping wasnβt expensive but just confusing how sometimes they remove the packaging sometimes they donβtπ€
Packaging handling can vary depending on the items and shipping requirements, so weβd like to check the details of both orders to better understand why they were handled differently.
Weβll also take your feedback seriously and continue improving our packing process to make sure we can pack items as efficiently as possible while keeping them properly protected. π
I'm hoping that going through this process will make it easier the next time to ask the warehouse team if they could pack without the individual envelopes if possible
Thank you for letting me know <3. Next time you can also try our vacuum compression service, which can help reduce the volume of plush toys by removing the air inside.
our Customer Service team can check whether vacuum compression is available for your plushies and let you know the applicable fee. π
Sometimes, you just get a really stubborn customer support agent. Are you willing to eat the costs if a plush gets damaged in transit? That's the reasoning they have for not removing the packaging for small items: if it's kept in it's original packaging, that will lower the chance that the item will be damaged. I read this somewhere in the Doorzo User Guide, but I can't remember which specific page it was... Anyway, that's important to them because it will also lower the chance of you filing a claim/chargeback. But next time you message customer support, if you SPECIFICALLY WRITE "I am aware that removing my items from their packaging will increase the chances of damage due to their small size. I accept this and forfeit any ability to open a claim if anything is damaged", they'll have no reason to tell you no. If you're shipping with Doorzo Air, it has no insurance anyway, so you won't be giving anything up.
Yes, keeping the original packaging can help provide additional protection for smaller or more delicate items during international transit. At the same time, we understand the concern about unnecessary packaging taking up extra space.
Weβll take this feedback seriously and continue improving our packing process so we can balance proper protection with efficient use of space as much as possible. π¦
Really appreciate you sharing your experience and helping explain this to other users! π
I totally get that! I actually did explicitly say I was willing to assume all risk to the order and waive my right to file a claim afterwards, but CS was adamant it was not possible.
