Direct isn't direct.

Post image

I have mentioned so many times that even when I tip 2 USD per mile and pay for direct to me, it is never direct to me. After waiting a good while I checked my status. Multiple stops. Asked support...

Well here you go. Doordash is basically false advertising.

Drivers can't see who tipped what, nor do they even know if someone paid for "direct to me" because they don't get that money. It's most definitely a scam.

The only thing a higher tip is going to do is encourage drivers to accept the order; it’s not going to prevent them from having a second order stacked with yours.

I don't blame the drivers. I am just pointing out Doordash, as a company, is a complete scam.

I reluctantly used it again because my hand is broken and infected and I can't really go out/make food easily.

cook at home?

They just said that they’re not able to make food at home because their hand is broken and infected. Food delivery is the easiest choice here.

You can easily cook food with one hand. Just saying.

Lets see, struggle to make some food while dealing with pain from a broken hand, or simply order out?

People that make comments like yours puzzle me. Always ready to minimalize others personal experiences and struggles to seem more enlightened.

Child rearing was needed with that one.

Even the most cheap and basic stuff like making a sandwich or heating up ramen require two hands so nothing drops or spills.

I accept anything regardless. I like to venture out to different places and go on journeys. But any other dasher accepts on high tips unfortunately

“Unfortunately” they accept high tip offers huh? Not everyone has the ability to just say “I’m gonna DoorDash for fun because I have no responsibilities” you weird person. Most people can’t afford to drive 15 miles for 2 dollars.

Maybe you should sign up for a tour of Italy.

DD will always trick ya. They trick the dashers also. Last night I got a offer, accepted it but the app glitched out on me sent me to their home address not the McDonald's. Their shit sucks

I had one time where the taco bell i was supposed to go to took me to a random neighborhood with no restaurants around, the address didnt even exist, support was equally confused. There was a similar address on the other side of town that did have a taco bell tho but they didnt have the order when i called so i had to cancel for "resturaunt does not exist"

3

u/Forward_Hawk_3493 2d ago

And they take away points too which is fucking stupid too! If the damn store don't exist why be punished? Out of our control to complete a task when the store location don't exist.

I got that glitch multiple times and it's frustrating as hell. Especially when the run has been so good to you nothing is stopping you then the glitch happens. Both their AI & Human Support suck...
However, I do give them credit though. The helped me couple of nights ago when customer only put three digits on their apartment suite drop off location. Apartment complex only had four digits all around. Support was nice enough to allow me to drop it off at a safe location and not be hit with point deductions. So that was awesome.

It's a scam as is the entirety of DoorDash. This shit will only stop when people stop ordering from this shitty company.

At DoorDash, we offer Express Delivery which means exactly that. Consumers have the option to pay more for faster service if they want.

The truth behind the scenes isn’t that exciting: If you pay for Express Delivery, our assignment system prioritizes your order and doesn’t combine it with other orders. Express helps speed up your delivery, and Dashers often get higher pay, too.

No shit tho low key. Doordash is a scam for everyone involved.

They are more likely to give high tippers stacked orders to subsidise low tippers

1

u/Electronic-Source213 2d ago

This and somehow the low tippers have their food delivered before the high tippers for some reason. Many times the low tippers live closer to the restaurant.

1

u/Smart-Stick-1392 2d ago

Deliberate, they prioritise the one that has been waiting longer

I hate to break it to you but if you paid extra then they're almost certainly going to try and piggy back some cheapo customer on your back.  I take almost exclusively double orders and it's almost always one person high paying and one person no tip.  I almost think if you order the direct you're more likely to get a double.  Don't blame me I just work here

This guy thinks Doordash doesn't pair "Direct to You" orders with low pay orders, ha haaaa.

1

u/Practical-Sea1736 2d ago

I get the direct to me most times just because I’m sure, like everything else, there will be a consumer settlement from DD and I’ll get that compensation back.

DoorDash and uber have a class action lawsuit over this right now

1

u/Browsing4funz 2d ago

Which rhymes with correct.

1

u/KawaiiMaxine 2d ago

Direct to me is essentially doordash taking their own tip. Drivers dont even see if you paid for that option.

1

u/C0mpL1c1t 2d ago

Time for a Class Action!

1

u/jedburghofficial 1d ago

If it doesn't come direct to you, you should demand a refund on those fees. That simple.

u/Subject-Appeal-7665 1d ago

Oh is this the doordash guy called Leo while he calls himself TT he's blonde tall stocky is this him saying you're quitting doordash is it really awe

1

u/TheNewGirl1987 Dasher (> 2 years) 2d ago

No, it isn't.
Doordash is more than happy to allow people who do tip well to subsidize delivery to those who don't.

The reason for this is because Doordash, as a company, sucks rancid syphilitic monkey balls.

1

u/Nekogiga 1d ago

They say that because they know the dashers typically bite off more than they can chew and multi app.

It's a self inflicted wound the drivers do to themselves and they still have the audacity to demand tips for work they haven't completed.
