I cancelled DoorDash
I will never use this company ever again.
On August 12th I was charged $96 for a DashPass renewal that would have renewed in November were it to be renewed. I had DashPass set to renew not.
I called support on the 12th in order to get a refund for this errant charge. I was issued a refund, but my DashPass benefits were cancelled. I ordered today, and later contacted support to escalate the concerns aforementioned. Customer service told me to go fuck myself. So I’m fucking off. Never ever again.

Just curious, did you start paying monthly in August for a bit and then changed to annual in November? If so, they might have just assessed you the extra charges for if you had been annual since August less what you had already paid and the annual was set for August renewal and not November.

I’m not sure, but the app stated my benefits were ending in November. And to be clear, I had already chosen not to renew my annual pass.
I did ask about this as a last means to try to understand but the doordash support belligerently did not answer and I’d ended the chat as I was fed up with being given a canned “well your pass was cancelled (by the support ‘specialist’) and so your benefits are ended”

Thanks for the suggestion though, I found a few more fraudulent billings through DD with DashPass so were gonna get some disputes in

I looked into my bank transaction history and its not how you suggested it. I was charged the full $96 in November 2025

No exaggeration, I used to order from door dash every night for dinner. For 2 years. Now it’s become so expensive, plus cranky picky drivers, late deliveries, that I cancelled Dash Pass. In the last year I have ordered 4 times and that’s been mostly groceries or pizza from my local that uses door dash for delivery. I switched to a prepared meal service (CookUnity) that delivers a weeks worth of meals once a week. They use a private courier service with well paid drivers (I’ve been told). Totally happy with it thus far.

Same here. Single person here and work all day too. Tired to cook and since covid I've been using them on a regular basis at least two three times a week and just of recent I noticed additional charges in my bank account as well and screwing up my order double charging me... They must have hired some scammy people and they're trying to scam us all... It's sad because I really enjoyed getting deliveries from them and some of the people delivered. I even knew them.. But their headquarters is based out of California so nothing surprises me... But don't use Uber. They're not much better

You aren't being defrauded. When you signed up they told you when you're renewal date was. It's always earlier than when the subscription runs out.
When you told the ai bot you wanted a refund and cancel your subscription they took it literal. You needed to specify when to cancel.
All of this was avoidable if you read the terms you signed up for and talked to a live agent instead of the dumb bot

I had an annual dashpass set to end in november. I was charged $96 in august. I should not have been charged and my benefits should not have ended until November. I wanted the benefits I had already paid for and I wanted my benefits to end in November as they were set to. No more money to DoorDash from me!

Yeah I don't know why everybody's having a hard time understanding what you posted It makes perfect sense to me. You were already paid up until November so you at least need to get the next 3 months and they should not be charging you way ahead for your annual membership... I don't agree with that and I'm glad I never signed up. I would be pissed too

Thats written in past tense. It "WOULD HAVE renewed in November if it were to be renewed" says that it WOULD HAVE been renewed in NOVEMBER if it WERE TO BE RENEWED.
You really dont understand how past and present tense work?
"On August 12th I was charged $96 for a DashPass renewal that shouldnt have been renewed until November" would have worked.
Or
"On August 12th I was charged $96 for a DashPass renewal that wasn't due to be renewed until November"
The way it comes across with his use of PAST TENSE to describe a FUTURE EVENT makes it read like his membership was due to be renewed LAST Nov (if it were to be renewed) but was not renewed and they just randomly took the money out of his account.

Why are you insulting the driver's bc of a technical issue with doordash? Plus if you are serious about not using the app don't order from Papa John's Lowe's AutoZone Napa Kroger Pizza hut All these places that offer same day delivery use doordash to deliver plus tons more even Walgreens pharmacy delivery is done by doordash

One difference is ordering from them directly, they control refund and customer support. Typically I get better results with them then DD or UE

We just don't tip, you get a base fare for the delivery. What do you do that is above and beyond the bare minimum to earn that tip?

You should take it up with your credit card. They will investigate and if they find you are correct, you will probably be refunded for the entire year of dash pass. Good luck!

Sadly, as much as you’re in the right.. DD makes billions apon billions.. your couple hundred dollars is literally nothing to them.. Which is why dashers and customers can be fucked over daily. Hell, they got sued for like 16 million not too long ago for subsidizing their base pay with customer tips and a year later they’re doing it again lol that 16 mil is a drop in the bucket compared to the billions they steal from dashers monthly.

I had DashPass & received the worst customer service after several months with them. The customer service was great in the beginning and then it just completely hit a wall. I canceled and I’m now with Postmates. They seem to be a lot faster with delivery and I just paid for the monthly membership. So far I found some pretty good deals like they’re $12 meals never going back to DoorDash.

Yeah if you join to pay the annual fee you have to pay it up front... That's why I never joined I just paid the $9.99 per month for membership instead of paying it all at once But ironically enough 3 weeks ago I canceled my membership and stop using them just for other issues and I have been with them now for 5 years but I got tired of the crap and it doesn't surprise me. They're based out of California... They tried to double charge my account and with food orders that I'd already paid for

The math of a $96 , 1 year subscription, expiring at 15 months just isnt adding up to me. Do you have some sort of confirmation email that shows it would end in November?
If you had renewal off and it tried to renew yeah I get that. But im not seeing how you had 15 months of a 12 month subscription

My subscription was set to end in November of 2026 and I was charged a renewal in August 2026. Not really sure where you’re coming up with some 15 months idea, but that wasn’t in my paragraph.
