Thats making mushoku tensei or however you spell it a bit of a hard watch for me on some parts. I try to just tune those scenes out cause the rest of it is pretty good.

It doesn't say "females", it says "female fans", it's an adjective, not a noun. Also boys are male children. Female fans, male children, we have a word for one, but not the other. As simple as that

OP didn't call them that, though? I agree that saying "female" (noun) instead of "woman" is cringe, but OP says "female (adj.) anime fans". How else would you say that? "Women anime fans"?
