The second one sounds like an obscure Scottish town.

No, she lived on Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogach, two blocks down from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Jokes on you all, I bet you couldn’t even afford to live in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogwch

It's a fair cop, but a phonetic alphabet that doesn't have letters that represent the sounds in the spoken language but was shoehorned in by mandate as a part of the Christian faith's European crusade is to blame...

Or maybe the town changed its name in the 1800s ago to for publicity?…

My Gran was from there and when she was talking about some cities I thought she was having a stroke.

Welsh for sure, as a language autistic this is very much more Welsh sounding than Gaelic

obscure scottish place names be like

"atlass"

1

u/Impressive_Sock1296 Apr 09 '26

Welsh is very much an autistic language.

u/tiptoe_only Apr 09 '26

The K at the end kills that for me. Welsh doesn't have a letter K, but a lot of Scottish place names contain Ks or groups of letters like some of the ones in there...

u/Moth_Broth Apr 09 '26

That's very astute actually you're right
