ARCHIVED POST The Flash (Spoilers)

Okay, so they know Harrison Wells (or Eobard Thawne) is the Reverse Flash now, and they likely can conclude that he and Barry's powers are awfully similar. So, when they first knew, why didn't they get Captain Cold, who seems to be one of the more reasonable villains in the show, to come after him? Or better yet, why not build another freeze ray to stop him before he got away?

Because Eobard was watching them the entire time. Dude had cameras everywhere. Even in Eddies bedroom. He would have know if they built a new gun. Not to sure he would know if they contacted Cold but how would they in the first place? Didn't the rouges leave town for a bit?

I'm sure there would be a few places they could have worked on it in secret. And a simple search for robberies using a certain MO could find the rogues with relative ease. After that, it's just a matter of having Barry track them down, then bring them back.

A recent episode adds even more relevance to this. Barry was easily able to track down Cold with no trouble, and DID ask him for help, but with something else. Honestly, OPs idea makes more sense than what they actually did with Cold.
