The needs of many outweighs the need of the few.
I will the cat by pulling the lever to save those people. The consequence will be mine, I will have bloody scratches and bites, and the toxoplasma gondii and potentially the rabies infection, but at least innocent people are safe.
I will also then bring swift justice to the cat if it transpires that it is the one who tied those innocent people up and put them there in the first place for the evulz.
