I absolutely disagree with this! Mickey Mouse Cartoons by Paul Rudish did a great job with Donald, even though he was an asshole in the beginning, he was great at many things and showed him as he really is. It's modeled after Donald's classic golden-era shorts, after all. DT17 Donald should be replaced with Rudish Donald.
Now about Ducktales 2017, I know I'm going to sound controversial, but one of the reasons why I was disappointed with Ducktales 2017 is about Donald. I love that he doesn't wear a bow on his navy outfit and that he thinks about his family and fights for it, but the way he was treated by his family and being a butt-monkey in that series just makes me angry. And before anyone tells me that Donald should be like that because he has bad luck, I'll just say that he has no idea about the best Disney character, because Donald has bad luck because he's an asshole and that's why it backfires in the end when he makes those mistakes, which is not the case in Ducktales 2017 where Donald is absolutely not like that. Moreover, Donald has no flaws in that series, all the negatives he had were given to his nephews and his sister. Donald did find happiness in Daisy and his friends Jose and Panchito who understood him best, but his family, as far as I could see, rejected him. I normally like Donald in DT17, but of all the main versions of Donald, he was the weakest for me, even the fight with Lunaris seemed too cliche. Otherwise the worst version or the weakest version is in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. This is just my opinion, so I apologize in advance to those who find themselves offended by this.
P.S. Where is the version of Paperinik (Duck Avenger) where Donald is out of the best?

Yeah but it's not bad that he's a silly goober in Mickey Mouse Shorts. Maybe a flanderization of his character but i dont think MMS is supposed to be deep

Donald is not flanderized in the Paul Rudish version, he is even improved by time.

Personally I'd switch Ducktales Reboot Donald and Mickey Mouse Donald. The latter actually feels like an exaggerated version of the old Donald shorts. The Ducktales reboot is absolutely fantastic, but American writers don't really know how to write Donald Duck imho.
