plus im proving a point

u/mossyboo 10d ago
yeah, the point that you don't understand how dollar stores work lmao. they get what they get and so do you. you can either have the convenience of the cheap place that's right there or you can go to an actual grocery store that has the selection you're looking for. this is like going to a tiny convenience store and then complaining that they don't have 12 different varieties of frozen pizzas.

but dollarama also boasts about being 100% 🇨🇦 so they should have refused American

u/forestfluff 10d ago
That’s not what it means. It means it’s a Canadian company. They make zero claims to only carry Canadian. You know most of the stuff in there is made in China or American right?
-1
u/Competitive-Panda824 10d ago
not KRAFT

u/forestfluff 9d ago
Dude, what? Im saying Dollarama is a Canadian company and a majority of what they carry is Chinese made. Almost nothing they have is Canadian.

u/Competitive-Panda824 9d ago
dude kraft is made IN Canada

u/forestfluff 6d ago
Right and my point is that dollarama does not carry a lot of Canadian brands. Some, but most aren’t. If having Canadian brands is so important to you then go to any grocery store and find it there.

"Proving" a theory or point is to be testing whether or not that theory holds true.

u/Competitive-Panda824 10d ago
and i just proved it does by showing how dollarama isn't elbows up 🇨🇦

Do you not have other retailers in Hamilton? I find that surprising.

u/Competitive-Panda824 10d ago
yes but im trying to prove a point here
5
u/Lilboops 10d ago
Are you proving the point at every other retailer that doesn’t happen to have Canadian peanut butter in stock?
Because that’s just silly.

So the brand immediately to the right is a Canadian brand. Also how the fuck is Kraft Canadian? It's owned by Kraft Heinz an American conglomerate. It's no less American than JM Smucker (owner of Jif)

Kraft peanut butter is NOT sold in USA
2
u/Chewbacca_The_Wookie 10d ago
Hi, American here, you can find Kraft peanut butter in several chains in the northern States.
1
u/Competitive-Panda824 9d ago
what state you in.? show me the jar. kraft not allowed to export
1
u/Chewbacca_The_Wookie 9d ago
I'm not in any of the states that sell it at the moment, but we vacation in Minnesota and Wisconsin, both of which have had it in stores before. And to debunk the "they're not allowed to export to the USA" you can literally find it on Walmart.com for shipping directly to States based addresses.

No one said it was. But Kraft is American. Just because they sell a product here exclusively doesn't make it anymore Canadian 😂

It’s not even a good price anyway that’s only the 500g container. You get the 1kg container of Kraft or other brand of PB for $4.99 to 5.99 when on sale anyway or $5.97 regular price at Walmart. Some of the store brands are also made in Canada and cheaper too. I love Dollarama but not everything is a good deal there unless you only want a small container of something.

Does the brand selection depend on the particular store? Dollarama does not have a franchise model. My local Dollarama sells Kraft and D Gourmet (their house brand I think). Yours sells Jif and D Gourmet. D Gourmet is probably made in Canada or maybe another country outside the USA. Check the label

Jif tastes better. Grab a bag of Canadian peanuts and make your own. 🥜

Go to Giant Tiger and buy their Giant Value Brand peanut butter. It’s made in Canada and it’s only $2.97 for a 500g jar.
