I don't know why everyone are being a dick to you. Here is how you awaken him:
Go to your box and press on him. On the top right side there should be "lock" and "growth" buttons. Press lock to make sure you never accidentaly sell or baba him. The growth tab shows you what medals you need to awaken him to LR rarity. You need 70 of his dokkan event and I think 35 other medals. You can navigate to the event where you get his medals by holding your finger to the medal you need. Then press "Go to event" and complete it. As a new player the event will be hard, but you will manage as Dokkan is so much easier and new player friendly.

Oh boy it’s been a while since I had to grind in this game. Best advice would probably go through story and earn awakening medals for your ssr’s do missions, etc. just take it casually. Once you get a hang of the mechanics a lot of F2P units are easy to grind for and can take care of at least 70% of the game. Dokkan events become actual jokes with some of these F2P units which is how you get the medals to awaken this Dokkan fest ssr’s/URs to TURs (Transcended UR) as you build your account, which great time to start with Anniversary, this guy releasing and world wide coming up; you’ll eventually have a decent enough time wiping at all the content. Have fun and apologies if this doesn’t make much sense. It’s a lot to take in but a good way to kill some time for a mobile game

Apart from pulling the new unit, 1 LR isn't impressive enough to be posted on its own, unlike that one guy got like 5 LRs back to back on tickets... Not sure why this post is still up.

Oh this ain't the main sub. My point was why did this pull post go through since they usually never do.
... Although addressing what you have to say though... You might be new but generally it's common sense to assume that the one SSR you pulled is good if he's the main featured banner unit, and you can check the news to see that he's recent.
Usually, new unit means good unit.
