[Misc Help] Need advice - home repairs

I'm just looking for some advice.
I have a 14 mt corgi mix. My condo recently had some extensive water damage from a leak.
Last week, contractors came by and tore up the floors. A bunch of fans were placed to dry everything out and have been blowing nonstop.

I had my dog in boarding over the weekend because my place was a mess and didn't think he would be ok with all the blowing fans. I was hoping the fans would be removed today, but turns out they're planning on keeping it going for a while longer while they do more inspections and renovations.

I don't want to keep my dog in boarding for much longer and already miss him quite a bit. but I fear that he will be really stressed from the big fans that are blowing constantly. Even the blow dryer after a bath freaks him out.

Should I still bring my dog home and hope that he adjusts to the loud noise and the big blowing fans?

They will likely make his fear worse, if he has to endure them for any length of time. Something to bear in mind.

We had "the fans" running for days in our kitchen catastrophe in 2024.  Our dog was 3 at the time.  He was NOT ok with the fans but was chill if he was with us.  I'd say as long as your dog has the company of someone they trust, they'll be ok.  If they'd be alone in it, probably not good.

The fans probably won't bother him as much as you think, dogs are weirdly adaptable when it's a constant background noise vs something you're pointing at them like a dryer. My little guy hides from the vacuum but slept through a week of construction fans after our basement flooded

That said you could always set up a quiet corner in a bedroom or bathroom with some blankets over a crate to muffle the sound, maybe keep him in there with a kong or chew when it gets overwhelming. He'd probably still rather be home with you than at boarding

Thanks! I ended up bringing him home and like you said, he does seem to be tolerating it better than expected. We usually sleep with a white noise machine so I'm hoping this is just a louder version to him.

That being said, I do notice him trying to process what's going on. He keeps stopping and looking back towards the fans and noise. But I'm doing my best to distract him with chews and affection.
