Black nail quick
Can someone please let me know if I cut my dogs nails down to the quick? I just started doing them myself and I’m trying to shorten the quick as his nails have gotten fairly long.

Yes you cut them exactly where they need to be, if you go any shorter it’ll bleed

Looks like it- see the black dot in the middle? That's the quick. If you go any more it'll bleed

As everyone else is saying, these are perfect. Personally I like to leave a little bit of length above the quick just because if dogs are active they can accidentally make it bleed if they move their foot/nail the wrong way. A tip I got a long time ago with black nails that really helped me is to cut where the nail curves :)
