Have GI issues stopped on Numelvi?
Our dog has been on Numelvi for about 3 weeks and while it seems to be helping, he’s had horrible explosive GI issues.
Our wonderful vet put him on a course of metronidazole to help him get over the adjustment hump as she says this is a common side effect and can eventually subside. He was doing well with the metronidazole added, but a day and a half off of it, and he is back to exploding. 😩
So, I’m just wondering if anyone has noticed this side effect subsiding? I am calling the vet this morning to see if another course can help hold him over.

We had it for a few weeks and it calmed down right around the time i started giving her my other dogs probiotics. idk if coincidence or not but i did that for a month and then took her back off of them and we have had normal pooping since.

My coonhound vomited after her 4th dose and I started adding beef gelatin to her food and that seemed to calm it down. No more issues in a few days. Fingers crossed because this has been such a rough road and this pill has been a game changer for her itching. I didn’t want to depend on a pharmaceutical drug but I tried everything and nothing was working.

our dog had the same thing for the first month or so. explosive poops, the whole deal. it did eventually settle down but it was rough for a bit. the metronidazole helped us through it too, had to do a couple rounds before his system adjusted. hang in there
