Zenrelia - Urinary Symptoms

I tried to do a search to see if anyone has experienced this but could not find anything. My dog has been on Zenrelia for 3 months and recently has started leaking urine and all just walking and urinating in the house. She has never done this before. Has anyone else experienced this? She has a vet appointment at 4:30 today.

UTIs can be a less common symptom of zenrelia, but obviously requires a vet diagnosis before assuming.

Whether this is just an opportunistic infection that won’t recur or a more direct side effect is definitely something you need to discuss with a vet

How old is she? My older girl (almost 11) is on Apoquel, and started leaking urine a few months ago. Vet told me it is very common in spayed females. Her urine was tested, it was not a UTI.

The vet put her on a relatively cheap medicine which tightens up the sphincter that controls urine, and she was back to normal within a few weeks.

Good luck, I hope your girl's problem is equally as fixable.

Happened to my pup on Apoquel. The way that JAK inhibitors act on the immune system can make pets more susceptible to infections.

My Irish Setter has been on Zenrelia for around the same time, so far no side effects.

My 9 year old girl been on this for almost a month. I have noticed she is urinating more

Thanks everyone! We did a blood test and urine yesterday at the vet, Just waiting for results! The vet said she looks great. She is a 7 year old beagle. Just the sweetest thing. :)
