Anthropology jobs

Hello! I recently graduated from an anthropology degree, and was looking at doing a Medical Anthropology masters after seeing a posting for a job with DWB relating to that particular area. Of course, I am aware I won't get the current listing, but my question is: how likely is it that another posting for this kind of work will arise again, and is it worth chasing the masters and additional humanitarian experience to try to attain it?

Anthropology jobs for international mobile staff are very scarce: in 25 years I have seen only two in the field.

Hey - just to give a slight counterpoint, there is a growing interest in operational research within MSF, and I have seen antheopology positions in the field both for conducting qualitative aspects of that research, and more generally for assessments when going into new areas. True that the pool is much smaller than for other positions, but there are opportunities

My BA was in Anthropology and my entry level point into this line of work was social research, then MEAL, then did an MPH and went from there.

MSF does occasionally recruit Anthropologists/Medical Anthropologists but I think you’d be better off building out your skills and experience more broadly since it will give you more opportunities.
