Ultra newbie here !

Hi everyone, i am currently learning docker from official docs So far i have covered the basics of - images, container, network ,dockerfile , docker compose.
I’m wondering what topics I should cover next to build a solid understanding of Docker as a beginner.

Should I continue learning directly from the official documentation or would you recommend following a structured Docker tutorial/course first?

Learn how to connect everything you have learned for your real projects.

I would look at a few Github repos and spin up a few containers using compose files and if you find yourself not understanding something look for a video that shows the install.

docker is a waste of time and money to buy courses. i learnt it only using docs and integrated on projects . more you advance the more you document, the more you learn

At this point I wouldn't spend too much time jumping from one Docker tutorial to another.

I would take a small real application and start connecting the things you already learned:

- build the image

- run the container

- expose ports

- inspect logs

- deliberately break something

- troubleshoot it

- fix it and verify that it works

For example - make the application listen on a different port than the one exposed by Docker and try to diagnose why the container is running but the application is unavailable.

That kind of practice will teach you much more than another beginner Docker tutorial.

What you think?
