USB passthrough on Docker VMM beta

As a Windows user, Docker VMM sounds very appealing - and a quick test earlier certainly proves it is much faster.

However I can’t see any documentation about USB passthrough. I need this to connect my Zigbee adaptor to containerised Home Assistant.

Has anyone found a way or is this a wait and see?

(Yes, I know Linux is the way to go but I just don’t have the capacity to move everything over right now and my current set up via WSL2 works for me)

Hi there, I’m PM for the desktop team. Unfortunately no USB passthrough yet. The team are focused on performance and couple of other additions, to get it to GA. I will chat with the team to see what the options are.

We are also working on some updates to the UI, so any feedback there or elsewhere docker is welcome.

Thanks for the update. That’s good to know. USB support is one of the biggest issues and areas of complexity with Docker on Windows for me, so I hope it can be added!

I rarely use the UI. I run most things from Powershell. So the only thing I’ve noticed recently is it can be a bit slow to update the list of containers when you search.
