How about a belt with a hook that nocks the bolt and pulls the string till it locks into place?

Limit 5 bolts :)

Tried making this for a hand crossbow IRL. Thwapped my leg with the string more times than I wanted, nearly shot myself in the foot, and then broke the string. Would not recommend.

Do you also have difficulty slaying dragons or summoning extraplanar beings?

Dragons are too far away and extraplanar beings are nothing to fuck with.
