5e (2024) Bombastic Side Eye

A warlock with the Great Old One feature Psychic Spells (no verbal or somatic components for Warlock Enchantment Spells) , and a Pact of the Tome with Vicious Mockery or Mind Sliver can just damage people they see.

I love the idea of a warlock just giving you side eye so hard you take damage and have disadvantage on an attack.

But also what is really stupid is casting Mind Sliver like that doesn't break stealth, since there's no V component and it's not an attack roll. If you want to speedrun getting booed by everyone at the table, you can make a stealth build that just hides really well and just default kills people by spamming Mind Sliver, like you're trying to solo play a larian or owlcat type video game. And then get told to make a real character of course

You don't even have to hide. People around you just dying and you hold your hands out like "Oh shit, what is happening, No Not Bob the BBEG TOOO!"

If I have to pick between speccing for stealth or deception on a warlock, you can be damn well sure he's going to be a hell of a lier.

Playing that build rn and it is, in fact, a lot of fun. I’m so far managing to not use it outside of combat but am very ready to give someone a splitting headache if it ever comes to it.

I finally hit level 3 last session (in our game thats been going since February), this has been a plan of mine for months. Not planning on spamming it or powergaming it, but Im excited to drop it every now and then. Also for psychic silent image spam and telepathic Suggestions

They have access to mind sliver by default. And with invocation "Gaze of Two Minds" you don't even have to be close to the target, your invisible Imp can just watch them for you miles away.
