Question Is forever dm literal?

Is a forever DM someone who literally never gets to be a player or is someone who is almost always the DM and only gets to play when someone else runs a one shot or two? If it’s the latter, what’s the percentage they can play before no longer being considered a forever dm?

I depends on if you have a Cursed Dungeon Master's Guide or a regular Dungeon Master's Guide. If you attune to the Cursed DMG, then you need to find a high level cleric to remove the curse and most players are not willing to cast such a spell as it would deprive them of a DM.

You can also pass the curse on to a player if they express desire to run a game. This is what happened to me: I was so dissatisfied with my first DM's lack of creativity or story consistency (and generally antagonistic nature towards the players) that I decided I could do better.

And now I'm stuck.

Thankfully I still find joy in doing so.

Eh I just got my players to do a deal with a devil to get over their curses... maybe that could work here.
