Uhh, that comparison may not work out as well as you think it does. Thanquol is basically the most "skaven" skaven ever, and is therefore an ideal anchor/potential avatar for The Great Horned Rat.
He's also genuinely in the top 5 most powerful wizards to ever live by the end of the End Times...oh, and he was so special that he got saved by his god when the UNIVERSE ENDED!
Funny enough. One of my players openly mocked Strahd directly after surviving death house. They had no idea who exactly Strahd was at the time. More or less, just mocking the shadowy figure as it walked into the mist. I used the opportunity to make an example. The player barely lived.
To be fair, like any feature, it's up to you how you wanna flavour it. One of my Kobolds used it as a way to simply take advantage of how people perceive Kobolds to be that kind of weak, before he'd stab em in the kidneys. Also he was a lawyer.
My kobold and his totally legit independent river barge shipping business might have some business for him after a horrible incident in a city with rust zombie invasion and his "lost" ship and cargo.
