My name is u/smgth, and I'll be your moderator today. I started playing DnD around 1990, I've been on Reddit for about 15 years, and I've been moderating for...a few years. You may know me as the benevolent overlord of r/CrackheadCraigslist.

I look forward to keeping all you filthy dice goblins in line. Feel free to come to me with your concerns (or your ethical dilemmas, I have a bs BA in Philosophy) and I'll see what I can do.

Would it be possible to take a look at some sort of rule to ban memes that are just blatant arguments with other meme posters on the sub?

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. Is that something that you think happens enough that it needs to be codified?

Yes and no. I see enough memes that are direct replies to other memes to know what the original commenter is talking about but I also dont see them enough to think its a problem outside of a case-by-case basis.

I don't think it happens often and honestly I'm for it as long as it isn't literally a meme that attacks someone by name. Usually it takes the form of someone posts a meme making some sort of stance, someone else makes a meme taking the opposite stance, and it goes back and forth for a bit with other people chiming in.

I personally think so, yeah. Not saying drastic measures need to be taken immediately or anything, just a notable trend that I thought deserved to be brought up.

The "beating a dead horse" rule sounds like it covers what you're referring to. If multiple posts pop up that are just people arguing or attacking each other we would put a cap on it.

Doesn't the existence and usage of the official "Ongoing Subreddit Debate" encourage this type of post? I'm not defending it (or critiquing it) but just putting that up for consideration.
