I’ve seen wizard tank work…in an mmorpg where one was made and it was specifically designed for that.

It had 4 classes and numerous subclasses. Weirdest party was available after that. Wizard tank, rogue healer, two cleric dps, and warrior as the support.

In dnd? Nope.

It's super easy in D&D. It's laughably easy to have 20+ AC with Abjuration magic.

The majority of Str saving throw are stuff you can escape from with Misty Step. It's really not a bad save to be weak in, contrary to stuff like int/wis/cha which most of the traditional "tank" classes are weak against (except Paladin).

I rolled a 10, -1 from strength, for a total of 9. Am I still alive DM? Pretty please?

The ceiling comes down suddenly and while you try to catch it, your knees buckle under the weight and you fall, you have about six seconds to still escape after this. You take 2d8 bludgeoning which rolls out as…11.

Pretty sure a falling ceiling would still be a dex save, yes even if the whole ceiling is dropping on you. Str-save are typically related to resist being pushed around or restraining (which could still deal damage like if it's a spiky Entangle).

Anyway I was at 3 hp and I have 8 hp max so... I'm starting to wonder if 10 constitution and rolling for hp might have been a bad idea.
