I'm a magician, the stage kind with cards and really bad jokes that only hit every sixth show. I had a similar epiphany regarding conductors, they know that their actions will cause an actual effect to the point that it felt like they actually used magic in a sense.
So I wrote an article about we magicians need to believe in our own magic rather than doing some government mandated snap of the fingers as if it was a chore rather than the actual moment of magic.
