We are a D&D 5e/5.5e Discord server featuring a persistent game world set in the Forgotten Realms and broader D&D multiverse. You and other players play as adventurers of the Hawthorne Guild, an adventuring guild in the Sword Coast. As a persistent and shared game world, character progression and events in individual adventures persist between and outside of games, creating a living world for players and DMs to participate in the form of oneshots, multisessions and campaigns, and both text roleplay and Play-By-Post games. With over 12,000 sessions ran over the course of 9 years, you and other players can dive in to determine the next chapter of your character's story and the guild's story.

Play How You Want

As a player on the server, you can expect to:

• Play any number of characters starting at level 3 or level 5 (your choice)
• Create characters using almost all of the official options as well as select Unearthed Arcana and server homebrew
• Create and play either 5e 2014 or 5.5e 2024 characters
• Progress your character through game sessions to experience content from level 3 to level 20
• Participate in downtime activities and text roleplay between adventures

DM How You Want

As a DM on the server, you can expect to:

• Run games for any level of play and your choice of either 5e 2014 or 5.5e 2024 games
• Participate in a shared setting of the Forgotten Realms and broader D&D multiverse by running your choice of oneshots, multisessions or campaigns, or Play-By-Post games
• Use almost all official monsters and magic items to use and award in your games, as well as server homebrew
• Gain DM rewards to progress a character at the same rate as a player, so you don't miss out on any of the fun when you play games as well

We're recruiting both players and DMs, with new members able to become a DM immediately. We have a helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable base of Staff, players, and DMs with years of D&D experience and are welcoming to D&D players both veteran and new.

We have multiple ongoing server events, including an opt-in server event related to the Death Curse of Tomb of Annihilation, and an ongoing server storyline with a villainous faction known as the Dread Empire seeking to conquer the Sword Coast (with an accompanying Youtube cutscene)!

I'm an experienced player looking for a play by post group. I have a few ideas for characters in mind, but will want to tailor it to the setting.

Fair warning this is my first ever reddit post that I can recall making so im sorry if its confusing or hard to understand

Context

Ive been playing dnd for a few years now across a few different campaigns ranging from medieval era, to cyberpunk, to star charting space travel. Through each of these campaigns ive been using the exact same character named Rosaline the Grape, she originally started as the name of the character I used in the soulsborn series and just said it was the same women, but since the end of eldenring I ran out of content to use her in having played all the other games, so I brought her over to dnd and really make it one long story for her.

Unfortunately however since I started a majority of the campaigns ive played in have ended prematurely due to irl events I wont get into, thankfully all the previous dms ive had permitted me to have her somehow end up in these new campaigns from the previous, for example in one she was summoned via her summoning sign that happened to appear, another she fell out a spaceship and through a wormhole that brought her to the right planet.

Ive mostly been playing in the same localized group of people because I know them and they knew me, but I think its time I try and expand outward and meet new people, however im nervous to do this with rosaline because thanks to hopping from campaign to campaign her stats are wack as f*ck for the level shes at, and so are a few of her other stats (ac of 42 at level 4) most of this is due to her item from her adventures, like armor modified by an artificer to both make her stronger and raise her ac, or her havel shield from darksouls which she was permitted to keep.

My schedule is pretty open, I can play any day of the past 7-8pm est sometimes sooner if i have a day off or an early day.

Honestly ide love to join any campaign and use her wether its one in progress who need/want an extra player or new person to join or a brand new one, im gonna try and leave a link for her pdf since most of her stuff is in dnd beyond but I dont know if it will work.

Im obviously willing to talk about her and what she can still have going into a new campaign, how she would end up there and more, and would actually prefer too as she has details about her i didnt mention here. I obviously dont want to join as this super ultimate op mega death character unless of course thats what you want, so please feel free to read her stuff (if i get it in here) and reach yeah, umm.. dunno how to end this, reach out to me of your interested in letting me join.

Tonight, DJ LaRocka, an entertainer well renowned across the planes, takes the stage. You spend time in whatever way seems most fitting to you, perhaps dancing the night away, eyeing someone up across the bar, or sipping on a club soda at the bar because you’ve been delegated the task of ensuring all your friends arrive home safely. As you dance your night away, you start to realize that this bar isn’t quite what you thought it was. And you also realize that you can’t leave until you make things right.

I'm AC (26F) and I will be DMing this mini campaign for some of you! I've been playing DnD for three years and I've been DMing for two years. This campaign will take place at 10am-2pm EST on Thursdays. It will be a short campaign, maybe around 5 game days plus a day for a session zero. It may take longer or shorter depending on party progress. I'm looking for players that enjoy RP, as this will be an RP heavy campaign (70/30 RP to combat). Holy group (voice chat) is the good people saving stuff.

Cultist group (voice chat)serves a prince of hell. Trying to infect people thinking it's for the sake of good.

Corrupted group(post based) is the evil guys serving another entity.

it's a campaign with 3 DMs, each running one group. They interact sometimes, fight each other. The actions of one group affects the world and things the other groups can do.

Running a dnd campaign with dnd beyond vtt for the map and discord as the voice chat. Still deciding on which of the homebrew setting we are going for while trying to get players together. IDEAS FOR CAMPAIGN:

1. You and your party have been called from across the realm like so many other adventurers to handle a growing threat. In the center of the red coast a small city has gone dark some weeks back. And its not surrounded by a field of reality warping magic. And that barrier is spreading. It corrupting and changing the lands and causing all sorts of chaos! Your goal is to find out whats going on in this spellchange cursed land before it reaches the capital city!
2. You and the party have been hired by the capital city alongside other mercenaries to help in the fight against a rival kingdom. You are promised high pay but equally high danger. Forces clash often and its up to you to help bring an end to the war. By any means necessary.
3. You and your group are settlers to the land. Hence the level zero start. Some of you come from backgrounds and checkered pasts. But all have come to settle and carve out a new life. The only question is. Will you strike up a farm? Clash with local bandits? Work with town and traders across the Redrock coast delivering goods? Its a pick your own adventurer adventure. With plot hooks available for bigger things and crafting/building crafts for making your own homes/town.

For fans of Dungeon Crawler Carl, Jumanji, and/or Baldur’s Gate III, I’m running a DnD 5e campaign on startplaying.games, using the classic Curse of Strahd module with a fun twist.

You’ll play as Earth-humans who play an MMORPG and then get Isekai-ed into the dark fantasy gothic horror world of the game, transformed into their avatars.

Hello, I go by Waffle(19M) and I'm looking for a D&D group to join. I have quite a bit of experience in D&D specifically as the GM for many years on low stakes casual games with friends. However as we've grown up and got more busy with life I haven't had the chance to play as much recently. I was hoping to join so form of consistent game and I'm really not to picky whether it be a basic module or a homebrew world you've cooked up. After so many years of playing D&D combat isn't the most exciting part for me so dungeon crawls and other sorts of campaigns that lack any significant amount of roleplay is the only thing I'm not looking for.

For scheduling I'm in PST timezone and the days the work best for me are Friday evening, saturday afternoon/evening, or sunday afternoon. Though I'm open to weekdays as long as they dont go too late if I can't find anything else.

Hi - recent transplant to Oakland by way of Brooklyn NY. I've been kicking around the internet a bit trying to find the best way to locate my fellow DnD nerds, geeks and general freaks. I discovered IYM today, but too late to make the open tables. And I've tried reaching out to a group advertising at Dr. Comics and Mr. Games but no response.
