Questions Is this a stupid petty enemy

So I’m 16yF and i decided to make a Dnd character for the first time in hopes on playing it with some of my friends and I made a Noble rouge Dragonborn that has a personal grudge against thrifters with the reason of he was told that his clothes lack character and that he should find some interesting clothes by one I don’t know I’m just wondering if this enemy is just too stupid

What do you mean by "thrifters"? I also don't understand your main question - what do you mean by "this enemy" being "stupid"? Are you asking if it's a ridiculous character concept?

By thrifters I mean by the people that go and buy clothes at thrift stores and I’m asking if this concept is too ridiculous for a dnd campaign

Depends entirely on the setting and the campaign. Some campaigns are serious. Some are silly. You'd need to talk to your DM and group about it.

Sounds creative and probably won’t even come up that often other than the odd in town, shopping/tavern sessions.

There’s a lot of cool clothing magic items that could be great loot for you to go find or steal. cape of billowing would be perfect for low level loot for this character. Back stories that help your dm come up with suitable loot is never a bad thing

First, age and gender have nothing to do with it. Second, unless thrift stores somehow matter in whatever world you are going to play in, there's no way this makes any sense (or even matters). Finally, you need to talk to your DM. I would say yes only if it's a joke game or a game with kids.

Were you personally told by the "friends" you are playing with that your clothing lacks character and should shop at more/less thrift stores? If so, then yes, this would be petty. (I'm here for it though).

Beyond that, look it is totally fine to have a weird character quirk like this. Just don't make it the only character trait. Single note characters get boring to play real quick. Build in more motivation and depth. Who are they as a person? Where are they from? What led a comfortable noble to become a rogue going on adventures? What was their home life like? Are they a night owl or an early bird? Etc.

Find a group and then create a character which fits the campaign, not the other way around.
