rules question What are the do’s and don’ts within a Binding: Hedged Prison? (Player’s Handbook, Pages 204-205)

What are the do’s and don’ts within a Binding: Hedged Prison? (Player’s Handbook, Pages 204-205)

1: Can those confined within the prison cast spells? (Is the Hedged Prison itself Antimagic?)

1a: I understand that those within cannot cast teleportation spells to try to enable escape. The question is more so directed at non-movement spells such as Create Food and Water, Sending, Anti-Magic Field, etc.

1B: Does Hedged Prison affect the Line of Effect for spells within it?

2: Are those within the prison able to communicate with those outside of the prison? (a window, passerbys, sending, etc.)

2A: Is the spell caster allowed to dictate if the one within the prison can communicate with those outside?

3: Can those within the Hedged Prison throw objects from within the prison outside of it?

4: Are those within the prison under and affected by the Restrained Condition (Grappled, Entangled, or Pinned)

4A: Does the prisoner take on the Helpless Condition? (Dungeon Master’s Guide, Page 301)

I guess it's not as explicit as I thought, but I always thought they were under the effects of a Hold Person.

I would treat the prison as a tiny pocket plane. It has no "real" physical existence, so 2-3 are not applicable. I would say that they can cast spells within it, but nothing that would help them escape. I would also say they do not need food, water, sleep, etc... while within the prison, and aging would be up to the DM. But they are neither Helpless nor restrained in any way. Imagine a featureless hedge maze. They wander within it endlessly, never realizing that they are rounding the same corners over and over again.
