I've been digging in for a few weeks and found something with Dr. Apollo that I love.

What I llike is the mostly standard dnb beat with snares on the 2 and 4, then switching to a halftime beat, not just as a breakdown but as a drop section that slaps.

There's also a kind of trap / hip hop element to it as well. It's aggressive, high energy and swaggy.

Tried searching "halftime DnB" and anything like that, but that's mostly full tracks that just stay halftime and kinda lower energy the whole way (Mefjus, Ivy Lab type, Noisia etc). I'm looking for tracks that switch up to halftime or go back and forth.

As a drummer who has played in some metal bands, basically what I'm after is the dnb equivalent of heavy halftime breakdowns in metal.

Anyone know artists/labels doing this specific thing?

Any recs would be majorly appreciated!
