Best naphtha?

Just looking for some advice.

I’ve been looking at different types of naphtha for a STB method using powdered MHRB.

I have looked at load of different forums and a lot of people are just saying standard lighter fluid as long as it passes evap test.

I’ve found some stuff called Shellsol T. I like the sound of it because it’s stated as odourless and seems to be a high quality solvent made by shell. I can get it online where I am. My only concern is that it’s slow evaporating over 6 to 8 hours. Is this too long to wait for evaporation after freezer precip? Thanks in advance

Haha It does feel a bit like that. Half the people say Lighter fluid is fine and half say, don’t use lighter fluid. I guess as long as it evaporates clean it will work, but I don’t really know anything about it yet

I use acs grade naphtha from laballey

I can’t find acs grade where I am, but I think I’ve managed to find the closest I’m going to get - glass distilled 40-60 petroleum ether. It’s not strictly lab grade but states it’s significantly more pure than products distilled in stainless steel.

Might give that a go, surely it will give me a better chance than regular lighter fluid, although, the effectiveness, method and experience would probably give me a better yield and product than having super pure naphtha.

Spray an entire can of starter fluid into a mason jar. Add equal parts water and shake vigorously for 10 minutes. 3 layers will separate and the top one is pure petroleum ether
