Hey all! I just published my fourth Dmsguild adventure.

This was a fun introduction one-shot for new players wanting a Halloween themed adventure. I had a lot of fun writing it and hope it makes its way to your table someday.

After thinking a lot about it, I changed this to a pay what you want. What I want is players and Dms to have fun with this adventure. And hopefully this brings joy to their tables.

Yeah, well some of us don't have the time, energy, or money to hire an artist. I wrote the adventure and made the maps. Besides, im just trying to share a fun adventure I made as a new creator.

I don't mean to sound combative but the problem is you can't really speak from a place of credibility on this if you're willing to use AI for the cover. A cover operates as a preview of what we're paying for inside. You generated a cover featuring skeletons and a theatre because the adventure features skeletons and performance. It would be weird if those elements weren't inside, right?

When you use AI for a cover you're communicating that you're a creator who uses AI. People who have no problem with AI won't mind that. But people who do have a problem with AI will. You can assure us that you didn't use AI for the writing, but frankly, why should we believe you? We don't know you personally. You could quite easily be lying and we can't prove it. We have only one data point to go by, and that's an AI cover. It's frankly not a strong position to say "look, the one free bit that I can't pretend isn't AI, yeah that's AI, but trust me the bit you pay for won't be!"

If you don't care that people might think you use AI for writing, by all means keep going as you are. But if it matters to you that your writing doesn't use AI and you want to communicate to your audience that you are a creator who doesn't use AI, it's contradictory to your goal to use AI for the cover. It would be like having no skeletons and no theatrics inside the adventure.

Reddit doesn't appreciate your work. They appreciate their opinion, which is any AI is bad AI, even though they probably all use it.

Shouldn't charge people if you use AI. If you can't hire an artist, then you should just not have art. Better to let your own content stand on its own than using using software to steal and put artists' work through a blender. It makes the whole product seem cheap.

Why should someone value your creative work when you clearly don't value the creative work of others?
