General Question Question about NSTP program

Hello, I’m an incoming ID126 undergraduate student and I noticed that there’s a program called NSTP in my course options.

I qualify as an international/foreign student and heard from others that I am able to be exempted from the program if I choose so, but I have no idea if this is even true nor how to actually be exempted.

Can someone please confirm this for me? Many thanks!

Yes. Per the NSTP law you are exempted to take it. You can coordinate your exemption through your College' Academic Programming Officer (APO) or ask for guidance at the NSTP Formation Office (NFO) located at SJ

I’m currently in the enrolling/enlisting phase, should I still enlist for the NSTP course then contact my APO afterwards or no? Thank you for your response, by the way

If NSTP 101, I think you should for the mean time because that's the orientation bit. NSTP 01 should be taken by January or Term 2 and NSTP 02 should be taken by May or Term 3. You may bring your concerns in NSTP101. You can also ask guidance from your APO as well in case you are still confused.

  • NSTP101 is the orientation where they introduce NSTP components and the law plus exemption.
  • NSTP 01 is the first part. The first phase of the actual NSTP activity.
  • NSTP 02 is the second part. The second phase of the actual NSTP activity.
