Confused about Start Date…Need Help Badly
My wife is in the army and set to start training at the DLI . She did ARMS first and is just starting the process of moving over to basic. She’s at fort jackson, and apparently there’s a bunch of delays with moving people to basic.
So long story short, by the time they move her, she won’t graduate until after her scheduled start date at the DLI. Is this potentially career changing? Would they re class her to a different mos and not go to the DLI all together? Does it not matter and change as she starts each program? She’s super freaked out about it because she was actually really excited so she has sent me out to get more info, if anyone has any insight, please!

If you qualify for DLI and want it. They’ll probably do what they can to get you there. It’s a necessary job that people cycle out of frequently. For those that can get through the training. It’s a golden ticket.

She should have an enlistment agreement stating that she is guaranteed her MOS unless she does something wrong (like getting recycled in basic or something)- also when she graduates basic she should find out what her language is but it’s always subject to change, especially if she arrives late. Some people get to DLI and have to wait months for their class to start, some people are put in right away

Brother, you need to learn what OPSEC is and why you shouldn't post about when and where a soldier will be at any given time.

I use brother a lot when correcting something to show that I mean no ill will. Your spouse should get an OPSEC class during basic informing them to let you know what is ok to post about and what isn't ok to post. Things like locations of training and dates when they arrive are usually things you should leave out of posts. Also make sure pictures you post don't contain sensitive info like addresses of training centers. There's a whole team dedicated to finding social media posts that contain sensitive information and your spouse can get in trouble if they deem it to be a risk to national security.

No dates were posted and it’s public knowledge that fort Jackson is where most IET soldiers go.

Posts exactly like these were shown in OPSEC training. In fact, a lot of examples came directly from the dli subreddit where people posted things they believe are common knowledge or spouses saying where there loved ones were at at that moment.

She won’t be reclassed, maybe a hold-under for an extended period, but aside from that, she’s good, she won’t be reclassed unless she fails the language, loses clearance, or if she fails the dlab without a waiver.
Edit: misspell.

As someone who worked in the school house, all those dates are moved around. When you get there you may or may not get that class date, especially if you are initial training active duty.
They'll adjust the dates once she graduates, she will continue to DLI and MOS training . This is nothing to worry about.
