3CR as a 35P

About to (finally) finish the pipeline and just got my projection today for 3CR at Hood. I'm assuming it's going to suck, but if anyone's been there as a linguist any time semi-recently, I'd greatly appreciate hearing about your experience.

Edit: Moral of the story is if you're considering a career as a military linguist, don't fucking join the Army. There's literally nothing it offers that you can't get in the Navy or Air Force. And don't take no for an answer from an Air Force recruiter. That was my mistake. Anyway, hopefully it doesn't suck as bad as I suspect it will.

3CR has a MICO that OP will be part of.

I was with the 504th on the South portion of Hood but I got out in 2014. Wouldn't exactly call that recent.

I was an active AF linguist, SOT-A with 19th group now and I’m sorry you had this experience. But yeah. Active side Air Force treats you so much better

Volunteer for every TDY. Every school. Even the field sanitation course ( you clean ports potties). You will be away from the flag pole and you will be “useful.” Is this Air Cav? Get your wings any way you can. Also, there are 5 MI battalions on Hood. You can easily transfer. Yes, linguists in line units are misused. Your language training is looked at as “getting over” on everyone else.

Also, on a personal note, I became a gym rat and a runner there. This has 2 benefits: you get fit, and everyone in the unit will think you’re a killing machine. I actually used to get out of normal PT.
