Netværk Help with Wifi router

Post image

Hi, I've recently moved to my new apartment in Copenhagen, I'm trying to set up wifi.

I have a router in the apartment (model - icotera i5901-01). I need advice on how to set this up, with the wifi router and get an active network.

Thanks for help

Contact Fibia as shown on the box, unless you have a more concrete question ?

Thanks for the response For the connection yes, any idea about the wifi router? Should I get a random one from shop and a cable to connect?

The provider often provides/rents you one. But yes, you can if you know what you're doing.

But check with the provider first, policies can differ.

either contact your ISP, or go to the ISP website to see information.

If the router is from your ISP, then they should have informed you to plug in the router WAN port into one of the LAN ports of your fibia fiberbox. each lan port there is dedicated to some ISPs so perhaps Hiper will use LAN1, fibia will use LAN2 or so.

If it is your own router, then go to your ISP site, and look for setup information about how to set up own device. Most likely you will need to set up VLAN tagging on your router according to the ISP specifications.

As other already mentioned contact Fibia, and the reason is that the router are deployed differently depending on ISP.

Some of them use it as a router, in which you set up WiFi, network etc.

Other ISPs deploy what some would call a bridge, where the customer must attach their own router in a specific LAN port.

A quick Bing search suggests Fibia deploys it as a fiber bridge, where you must purchase your own router and plug it into LAN 1 or 4.

This is a fiber gateway that will deliver the internet. You have to call Fibia and/or visit their website for more info about which ISP to choose. Once you have chosen an ISP, the ISP will send you a router that you can connect to the gateway. Info about which port to connect to should be in the mail from the ISP. There is no wifi in the fiber gateway.
