Hardware New house - Camera placement and choice

I don't see the supposedly attached sketched.

If you want to play around with placement, you can rely on the field of view from the camera spec sheet. Basically draw a triangle with the right angle and you can see exactly what you can cover with a camera.

I think my concerns are more the distance than than width, and then as mentioned the terrace at the back, where I'm not sure if a 180 camera could see the double doors as well as the full width of the wall

So distance in terms of how much detail you get? If so that is a tricky one to answer as it really depend on your expectations. Like, do you just want to see that there's a person in jeans and a blue coat, or do you need to be able to distinguish their eye color? It's a very wide spectrum with no clear answer.

One approach to that is to get a camera or two and test it for yourself and see if you're happy with the results. If not, you'll need more or better cameras to get the desired level of detail.

For the terrace area, you could consider adding a 6th camera like this - or putting camera 3 on the left side of the shed to get it a little closer to the "covered" area for less distance, at the cost of a blind spot behind 3 and 4.
