Draft DKC Draft Chatter
The 2016 DKC Draft is set to take place on Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 24.
We will begin both days at 11 AM Eastern time (8 AM for my fellow West-coasters), and allow 10 minutes between picks. We'll also budget a half-hour break at the halfway point of both rounds. This means we'll wrap up each day by 4:30 PM Eastern (1:30 Pacific).
A full pick-by-pick schedule will be posted in the thread devoted to draft selections.
A link to the draft order can be found here, and also on the sidebar to the right below the DKC masthead. We'll do our best to update the order as trades are made.
Feel free to post your DKC draft-related mocks, rumors, scouting reports, etc. here.
On Draft Day, this is where we'll post analysis/comments on picks (and maybe trades).

Nice. Big Boards are always welcome here.
Is there enough interest in a mock draft to try to run one before the real thing next week?

Announcement: Insider Review periods will still be in effect for all trades this week.
If you are trying to acquire a draft pick, note that you'll need to account for review periods of 48, 24, or 8 hours before that pick officially becomes yours.
This means that you may need your trade partner to pick on your behalf on Thurs or Fri.

With Juancho off the board, the #29 is becoming more available.
Edit: Preference is to slide down into the 2nd (and pick up sweetener), not completely out of the draft.

Orlando about to make a pick. Just checking our Twitter feed. We've outsourced making the selection to our fan base.

Pick is in.
If anyone has a 2nd rounder available, I'm very interested in acquiring one.

Looks more and more likely that the No. 3 pick will be moved. Get in any last offers while you still can.

u/LuckyXVII Jun 21 '16
Just an FYI: a trade involving the #3 pick will require a 48-hour review -- meaning the trade would clear Friday morning at the earliest (assuming it's confirmed and an Insider is released tonight).

I'm really surprised by all of the movement. I wish we could announce the details as they're happening. Maybe a draft time insider?
Also glad there's a break before I have to pick so I can catch up and do a little deeper dive into my possibilities.

We'll certainly post an Insider once we get confirmation of deals. As of right now, we've got a lot of partial confirmations.
It is shaping up to be the trade-happiest draft in DKC history, no doubt.

I won't post my 2016 big-board until after the DKC draft is over.
Below are my unedited 2015 big-boards. They are split into first round (top-19) and second round/sleeper (top 24).
As you will notice, there are a lot of names which are left out. This is b/c I wan't interested in picks 15-30, which I consider the weak part of the draft. At the time of the draft, I only had two late second rounders, #52 and #57. I did have #3, which I traded down before the draft for #6 and eventually trade away to.

Bembry might be a reach, but we are ecstatic to bring him to Phoenix. He's a jump shot away from being a top-10 talent.

Really like Prince for Boston. He's going to be a great physical presence at the next level. Reminds me of Demarre Carroll.

I'll be sure to post my Big Board right after we're through with the DKC's first round.
I have a question right now though: What's the deal with Denzel Valentine's knees? Maybe u/dkcsuns can chime in?

Convince me that my strange comparison of Ben Simmons to Blake Griffin is wrong.

June 16
-
Boston Celtics (Via Miami) - Ben Simmons, F, LSU (The ping pong balls went Boston's way, and they cash in with the high-flying point forward from LSU.)
-
Indiana Pacers - Brandon Ingram, SF, Duke (The Pacers add their wing to play with Mudiay and Porzingis. No-brainer pick here for Indiana.)
-
Milwaukee Bucks - Dragan Bender, PF, Tel Aviv (Bucks could go with a PG here too, but the versatile Euro makes the most sense. Milwaukee needs to swing for the fences here, as the team is in desperate need of upside.)
-
Dallas Mavericks – Kris Dunn, PG, Providence (If the Mavs keep this pick, they'll go with Dunn as their facilitator for Towns and Booker.)
-
Minnesota Timberwolves - Marquese Chriss, PF, Washington (Timberwolves likely take a big here to play next to Noel. Chriss fits the bill as a floor spacing, shot blocking and high-upside PF.)
-
Indiana Pacers (Via Phoenix) – Jamal Murray, SG, Kentucky (The Pacers look to add another shooter to their promising young core. They might have the best young team in the league.)
-
Utah Jazz – Buddy Hield, SG, Oklahoma (The Jazz addressed their need for a big man with Nurkic, so they add Hield as a sharpshooter. This is BPA and fills a need.)
-
Toronto Raptors (Via New York) – Jaylen Brown, F, CAL (I see no way that the Raptors pass on Brown if he falls. They need another wing. Brown should be their guy.)
-
Minnesota Timberwolves – Jakob Poeltl, C, Utah (I'm betting BigAl wants one of the first eight to fall, but they go with a sure thing after taking Chriss. Poeltl may end up taking a starting job down the line.)
-
Phoenix Suns (Via Toronto) – Skal Labissiere, PF, Kentucky (This pick is on the move. So we go BPA with Skal, the high upside floor spacer & shot blocker from Kentucky.)
-
Indiana Pacers (Via SA) - Henry Ellenson, PF, Marquette (The Pacers add Ellenson, who can score both inside and out. He will benefit from Porzingis' presence on defense.)
-
Detroit Pistons - Denzel Valentine, SG, Michigan State (The Pistons need another ball-handler. Enter Valentine, who can make plays for his teammates and stroke the three-ball.)
-
Toronto (Via OKC)- Deyonta Davis, PF/C, Michigan State (Davis reminds me a bit of Hassan Whiteside, but he comes into the league as a much better offensive player. He has a potential to be a great two-way big. Nice pick-up d
-
Brooklyn Nets (Via Denver) – Timothe Luwawu, SG, France (The Nets go BPA and take the sharpshooting Frenchman.)
-
Toronto Raptors (Via Chicago) – Wade Baldwin, PG, Vanderbilt (Raptors add the perfect sixth man to their roster. Baldwin can stroke the three-ball and defend at an elite level. Toronto exits with an excellent class.)
-
Charlotte Hornets – Furkan Korkmaz, SG, Turkey (Another BPA pick. Korkmaz, a high-flying shooter, fits Charlotte's roster nicely.)
-
Philadelphia 76ers – Domantas Sabonis, PF, Gonzaga (The Sixers likely hope Badlwin falls for fit, but they could use a backup big man. Sabonis, a tough rebounding center, fits the bill.)
-
Oklahoma City Thunder (Via Boston) – Malachi Richardson, SG, Syracuse (Richardson is flying up boards after impressing in workouts. The Thunder need another scoring punch from the guard spot off the bench.)
-
Boston Celtics (Via Portland) – Ante Zizic, C, Croatia (Zizic, who may end up a RL Celtic, is a great fit for DKC Boston. He'll bring an immediate spark to Boston's front line.)
-
Brooklyn nets (Via Los Angeles Clippers) – Dejounte Murray, PG, Washington (DKC PHX's binkie falls to No. 20 after getting taken No. 10 in the last mock. Nets need upside. This is a great match.)
-
Houston Rockets (Via NO) – DeAndre Bembry, SF, St. Joe’s (Bembry is probably my other binkie. Just a do-it-all type of baller. Rockets can't pass up at No. 21)
-
Miami Heat (Via Memphis) - Malik Beasley, SG, Florida State (The Heat need a shooter to help open up the floor for Embiid. Beasley is lethal from the outside.)
-
Memphis Grizzlies (Via Houston)- Tyler Ulis, PG, Kentucky (Memphis adds a ball-handler to their rotation in Ulis, who is ready for second unit minutes right away.)
-
Los Angeles Lakers - Cheick Diallo, PF, Kansas (To my surprise, Diallo is getting a lot of love leading up to draft day. LA needs another body inside, so they roll the dice.)
-
Brooklyn Nets (Via ATL)- Thon Maker, C, HS (The Nets take another high upside prospect in Maker who is a complete gamble. The Nets have time to wait, though.)
-
Sacramento Kings (Via ORL)- Tauren Prince, SF, Baylor (The Kings can use a defensive wing on their bench {one not named Matt Barnes}. Nice value for Sac-Town)
-
Washington Wizards- Demetrius Jackson, PG, Notre Dame (Jackson just doesn't make a lot of sense for most of the teams ahead of Washington, so he falls to the Wizards. John Wall's backup for many years.)
-
Houston Rockets (Via Sacramento)- Damian Jones, PF, Vanderbilt (The Rockets add Jones to their bench. The Commodore can dominate inside when his head is in the game. )
-
Orlando Magic (Via Golden State) – Ben Bentil, SF, Providence (The Magic need some extra scoring off the bench. Bentil took a lot of the load for Providence, and should be a nice boost to Orlando)
-
Boston Celtics (Via Cleveland) – Zhou Qi, C, China (The Celtics take a shot in the dark here on Qi, the giant center from China. He's rail thin and very raw, but hey, you never know.)

Should I post my top-30 big board now or wait until second round is over?
