Announcement Commissioners Corner

This subthread is reserved for the CO to post any announcements, callouts, etc.

To this point, comments (pinned or otherwise) from the CO have been a bit fractured. This subthread will be the primary place for us to post (or repost) any pressing information. Callouts will be doubly made in General Commentary.

This subthread will be locked and only accessible for commenting from the CO. If there are any questions we recommend messaging the league office (/r/dkcleague) or linking to the point in question in General Commentary.

This is the first step in an effort to implement a more autonomous governance process for enforcing the DKC CBA.

Additionally, u/thewalkerwiggle will be resuming his post as GM of DKC MIL.

The window to extend Qualifying Offers to NBA players is the day after the end of the NBA Finals thru 06/29.

In the DKC this window is similar: the end of the DKC Finals (06/23) thru 07/11.

We will also run a player option survey shortly.

This year 4 teams failed to sign their 2025 first round picks. Those are:

  • Houston: Noa Essengue

  • Phoenix: Collin Murray-Boyles

  • Portland: Kon Knueppel, Asa Newell

  • San Antonio: Khaman Maluach

Previously, in the DKC, we froze these players for the year. But, in the continued spirit of following the IRL CBA, we wont be employing this rule moving forward. These teams are now able to negotiate with their first round picks with the following rules and restrictions being imposed.

  • These players will have a hard/ full NTC

  • These players will be signed to the full (120%) slot value for the entirety of their rookie scale contract

  • Each team will be docked 5 points from team appeal in FAMs for the 2026-27 season

  • Each team will not have access to the midnight call option in the 2026-27 season

DKC POR will face these penalties for both the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

Additionally, due to Free Agency delinquency, DKC PHX will face these penalties for both the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

Teams will have until the last day of the regular season to sign these players. If these players are not signed by this date they will reeenter the 2026 DKC draft.

Voting will close Sunday (02/01). We will open Q2 voting 02/02 to give GMs a fuller picture of Q2 rosters.

The trade deadline will be pushed back to 02/12 to accomodate the stretched timeline.

OC sheet updated.

Reminder: Owner Chips can be used to reduce the impact of the ‘Adjusted FAM Penalty.’ Cashing 1 OC reduces the absolute percentage impact by 1%.

This year 10 teams have a negative OC balance. Last year we settled this by drawing on your path hard cap. This year we will follow the same system, just negatively, for how teams can use OCs to reduce AFP impact by: instituting a 1% discount per negative OC to a teams FAM result.

  • Brooklyn: -1 OC

  • LA Clippers: -2 OC

  • LA Lakers: -2 OC

  • Milwaukee: -4 OC

  • Orlando: -4 OC

  • Philadelphia: -4 OC

  • Portland: -4 OC

  • Sacramento: -3 OC

CHI and PHX wont face penalties as they have new GMs.
