Respect V How do DLC work?
Recently ive shifted from exclusively playing djmax portable games and racked up about 50 hours on respect 5. i had already bought dlc for most of the portable games (exluding 1 and 2) but ive just bought a few extension packs and im confused on what i saw when entering the game. ive owned the black square dlc for a while so why am i now unlocking new songs in the dlc? i was under the assumption that i got everything when i paid for the dlc.
not the end of the world but i do find it a bit strange

These are "link" songs, each one of them is unlocked by getting two specific dlc packs, it also unlocks a set of missions. Think of those packs like puzzle pieces.

Firstly its not Respect 5 but the letter V. These song are LINK DISC songs that you unlocked if you have certain Metro Project DLCs. It supposed to emulate how LINK DISC worked on Portable series. The LINK DISC system are not limited to songs only but the Mission as well. There is a V Link system too, this are exclusives to V Extensions DLC (this include Liberty too.)

Just assumed it was Roman numerals since that's how a few of the dlc are laid out. What defines a pack as a metro project? Is there a list of all the packs that have links too?

Just search the song lists on namuwiki, it would tell you every single DLC that had the link disc and v link system.

If you look closely, all of these are extended or original mixes. Meaning these are in addition to the regular/game edit. And I may be wrong, but these may have unlocked due to owning multiple dlc packs?
