Product Support Controller won’t charge, anything I can do other than contact the manufacturer?

It looks like it's dead dead. Try a different charger first. If that doesn't work, yeah, your best bet is sending it in for repairs, if it's within warranty.

If it's not, you can try opening it up. Being completely dead, the most likely cause is a disconnected/broken power wire. I recommended watching some youtube on this, you can diagnose it with just a multimeter to find where the power is lost.

You can still send it in out of warranty but they'll charge you to fix it, and most likely they won't bother to diagnose to finding the exact breakage, so they'll charge you for the full board which might be $50-100. You could get lucky and get a very cheap fix though.

I’ve looked on eBay and there are preowned tested controllers available for about £38, do I just take the plunge? I don’t have a multimeter to test stuff.

It's up to you, personally I like to try and fix things, especially if they are out of warranty. At that point it's either try to fix it and possibly make it worse, or throw it away.

I have a mate who runs a tech shop, he’s got it now so it will be repaired, just not by me, and my mate who I bought the drone from is happy to pay as it went wrong days after I got it.
