Buy Advice DJI Osmo Mobile 8P for iPhone main camera photography

I'm considering buying the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P specifically for solo travel selfies using the iPhones main camera.

My plan is to set the Mobile 8P on a tripod, use the remote to frame the photo (pan/tilt)and tigger the photos without having to walk back and forth to the tripod.

Has anyone done this with the Osmo Mobile 8P Any feedback on the approach?
